The Problem-Centered Principle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background:linear-gradient(135deg,rgb(251,249,232) 0%,rgb(250,193,153) 100%)\">Instruction should be &#8220;Task\/Problem-Centered&#8221;, which means it should be centered around a real-life relevant problem that the learner is required to solved. The <em>andragogical principle of an adult learner&#8217;s readiness to learn<\/em> when they see an immediate application of learning, connects closely with this principle. In <strong>ARCS<\/strong>, you&#8217;ll see this principle connect closely with <em>Relevance<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c9df01bb5772d7a1e18c57833065dc80\" style=\"color:#769e76\">The IDCDT-AIM Course Example<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-background has-regular-font-size\" style=\"background:linear-gradient(135deg,rgba(249,252,215,0.4) 0%,rgba(191,242,198,0.33) 100%)\">Over the last twenty-years, the IDCDT course has continuously evolved to match the learning needs of its audience. It uses a task\/problem-centered methodology to ensure that the learners are able to solve real-life design and development problems with ease. Everything the participants learn in the IDCDT-AIM course equips them to create effective courses and training programs in a world where instructional designers are increasingly working with AI tools.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f525a0e915366de32fa8e33cbd7d1895\" style=\"color:#d87523\">2. The Activation Principle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background:linear-gradient(135deg,rgb(251,249,232) 0%,rgb(250,193,153) 100%)\">The learners &#8220;recall\/activate&#8221; their prior schemas to embed\/organize their new learning. If a relevant foundational schema doesn&#8217;t already exist, learners evolve a new structure for organizing the new knowledge. It starts by introducing and then fortifying the foundational concepts, so that the learners build new schemas for organizing the new knowledge that they subsequently acquire in the course.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8f7e09dcffc758a9c64cf0bbc9b4ce52\" style=\"color:#d87523\">3. The methods of designing and developing content and how the corresponding documents are created (such as <strong>creation of the design document and the storyboard,  effective and safe use of AI in improving the efficiency of content creation<\/strong>) is also demonstrated in detail. These demonstrations and illustrations help the participants become confident in using their own understanding with confidence.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8ac0fdc86fa44a1de67d4b41b37ffae8\" style=\"color:#d87523\">4. The Application Principle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background:linear-gradient(135deg,rgb(251,249,232) 0%,rgb(250,193,153) 100%)\">When learners apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems and receive constructive feedback and guidance alongside, they learn better.
