I find it difficult to describe the person that is me. When I received an Excellence Award at NIIT, they called me, “a whole-brain thinker.” I guess that’s what I am, except that the two sides of my brain don’t always see eye to eye. Among other stuff that I don’t talk a lot about are the facts: I am ambidextrous, I love science, I admire inventors and innovators, and if I have to ever identify a muse, I’d select Leonardo Da Vinci.

I studied to be an engineer, worked in the machine shop of a Steel Plant, decided to dropout of one of the premier MBA Schools in India only to join another, worked in publishing for some time; and then joined the eLearning industry, never expecting that I will be arrested in its thralls for ever.

I have been working in elearning development, content development, and training design & delivery for more than twenty years now. In 2004, I started Wavelength elearning where I spent six years designing, developing, and implementing Wavelength’s online courses and training programs as the Chief Instructional Architect and Facilitator of the ID programs. Those six years gave me the unique opportunity of experiencing, the entire CDLC first-hand. I had the unique opportunity to directly experience the audience psychology and their responses, through the Instructional Design courses and training workshops that I have facilitated and conducted.

In recent years, my passion has also led me into the evolving world of Generative AI. I actively explore its potential for instructional design and learning, experimenting with new ways it can support creativity, content development, and learner engagement. This intersection of human insight and AI innovation excites me, and I see it as the next frontier for empowering learning professionals.

I love to share what I know – through my writings and through the IDCDT Course and the instructional design and creativity workshops that I conduct. Between 2022 and 2025, I devoted most of my time to writing the book, For the Love of Instructional Design.

I live in Noida, a suburb of New Delhi, which is now a city in its own right. I love to spend my spare time with my infinitely better half (who is substantially less forgetful than I am.) I also draw some and read a lot.
