Last week, when Google was launching Nano Banana, I was visiting printing outfits and print factories to finalize the right printer for my book “For the Love of Instructional Design.” But despite the nano-ness of this particular offering by Google, curiosity kept niggling at the back of my mind. I couldn’t wait to check it out. I mean, those bananas everywhere were driving everyone bananas on the Internet, and I was no exception.
So this morning, I gave Gemini a few pictures and asked it to change something in them.
Here are some before-and after images. Check them out.
The 4-step Process:
- Upload the image.
- Explain what you’d like to see changed.
- Download the image.
- Smile 🙂
All is well, except that it still stumbles when asked to do unexpected Modifications. So I got a dog-dragon, when I asked it to keep the dog’s orientation and coloring unchanged, as it changed it into a dragon.

This post diverges from the book and the IDCDT-AIM course, where you can listen to me talk about how a non-coder (yours truly) vibe-coded the Creative Agni Website with ChatGPT. Stop there, if you have a few moments to spare 🙂
